Olympiad programming where to start?
Hello!
I graduated from the 11th grade, I'm entering a university (prog.eng./inf.systems). When I enter, I think to try to participate in programming competitions (C++, C#, Java, Delphi, Python languages are available), but the fact is that there were no competitions at school and there is no experience of participating in them.
At school they taught only pascal, and I myself thought about how to learn something more serious just now.
I chose the language C ++ for studying, I found a book in English. "C++ Primer, Fifth Edition" so far going through the very basics.
What do you need to know to participate in the Olympiads? What books to read? There is still time until spring.

I can recommend our site for solving Olympiad problems - E-olymp.com . Thousands of tasks are available on the site, classified by complexity/type, etc. There are also regular competitions. You will have practice
Just write something interesting for yourself in C ++, while reading about things that are incomprehensible to you along the way.

Да, и любой алгоритм из Кормена (даже графы), любой сложности, за 5 минут с тестами без подсветки синтаксиса должен суметь написать.
