Obtaining rights to use the author's image?

Good day)
I'm not strong in copyright, I had enough to put my logo on the image, and I did not see the piracy of my works (apparently scary -_-).
But now I'm slowly creating games, and I found an image that I want to use in my game.
Already found the author, and she gave permission for this picture.
And now the question. Permission is oral. Is it necessary to ask her to draw up some kind of paper where she says that she allows the use of the image.
I would not want that later, she abruptly changed her mind and the use of her image became illegal.
What needs to be done and how?

Let him write a written permission in e-mail, at least in response to your letter, but in theory this should be done in writing on paper.
To get started, you need to correctly fill out the request. It should include an exact reference to the material that you want to use, the number of copies you want to use and how they will be used, how long you will use them and how much you will pay the author for them. In general, you describe everything in as much detail as possible, so that later it would not be "oh, I thought you needed it for personal use."
Then you get an answer and if everything is OK, then you keep this letter with you. If they ask for money, you send the money and keep the receipt, or you record in correspondence that the money has been received and there are no complaints against you.

Let him write a facsimile: a handwritten text from whom to whom and what, with a signature and date, full name and passport number, scan / take a picture and send it back by e-mail.

And how to get guaranteed proof that the one who pretends to be the Author is exactly he? Or that whoever signs the paper is the author. In my opinion, this is a rather tricky question.

If you are sure that this is the author, and he (a) is sure (a), then the proof is not needed ... YOU.
But the court needs it just the same - to make sure that it is the person who sued is the owner of the content. In this case, you will have a "paper" from this person.
Another thing is if the owner is a third party and the court before the priests will then be your scans.
