Non-blocking queues in Java6/7, where to gain experience?

Hello!
There was a problem of experience in Java multithreading. It is in 6 or 7 of its implementation. I want to increase the skills in this topic from zero to the maximum. I did not find books specifically on queues, locks, concurrent (maybe I was looking badly). There are only Horstmann and Kernell.
It remains only open source it seems. The first thing I started looking at was the Spring3 sources, but the project is already big and it's hard to find the ends. So I appeal to the audience.
Are there any small projects on github so that you can understand this area of development?
