Nginx reverse proxy for tomcat — the correct configuration?

Hello,
you need to do something like this, there is a lot of documentation, and everyone writes a little differently ..
Tell me the correct and up-to-date config.
Now I have the following:
www.mydomain.com - nginx is running
www.mydomain.com:8080 - tomcat is running,
I need tomcat as a backend server to run on localhost, and nginx, respectively, as it is.
