Nginx+Django private file access?

There is a need to return private files. There is literally a chat model, a message model with pictures is attached to this chat, how can I make it so that my function would validate whether this is the desired user or not and give the file accordingly or give the corresponding error. How can I set this up on Django + Nginx?
