Interested primarily in reading ...

UPD: Interested only in components that do not require an installed office ...

The other day I used EPPlus-Create advanced Excel 2007 spreadsheets on the server quite an interesting library, though only for 2007. In principle, there are quite a lot of libraries for reading on the same codeplex , xls can be read via OLE DB via the links above. I don't really like working through COM, as it obliges the user to install Excel.
