MySQL client for Linux
Hello Habr!
Available: Ubuntu Linux, mysql client, standard Gnome terminal.
Want: SQL manager, similar to the mysql client, but with syntax highlighting and a convenient mechanism for editing queries.
PS MySQL Query Browser - no good ...
PPS Who uses what?

mysql workbench is, but it is very crooked. The best one I've seen is Sequel-Pro but it's Makovsky.
I use phpmyadmin, though it's a web interface crap, but I'm used to it and I like it.
For example, I wrote a utility for myself in java.
If you need everything here
Ubuntu Debian
github.com/strelok1111/MysqlJavaCat/raw/master/MysqlJavaCat.deb
Windows
github.com/strelok1111/MysqlJavaCat/raw/master/Win/mysqljavacat_win_dist.exe
It's quite simple, but I'm seriously driven with autocompletion. I'm comfortable.
If you like write a couple of lines.
"SQL manager similar to mysql client"
"convenient query editing mechanism"
As far as I understand you need a console client? As far as my memory serves me, the console and a convenient editing mechanism are two different things. The console is very convenient for typing, but it is bad for editing.
I used the free version under vine from these guys .
But it is buggy, an infection, but in general it is convenient.
I used Navicat in Wine. Except for the screen flashing at startup, it's a great thing. Particularly pleased with the Data Transfer mode for synchronizing servers. In case of any heisenbugs, it updates the local database in a few minutes. And on the little things - I use phpmyadmin.
Under Windows, I really liked Navicat, from the free HeidiSQL. There is nothing similar under Linux, because MySQL WorkBench is for design, and most often the usual mysql console. Didn't find anything better.
I've been using this for a very long time now . Yes - Windows, but under Vine it works fine. tested for years! work with him.
if you feel sorry for the money - then here is the free version . the most important difference from the paid one is the absence of tunnels to the servers, but you are on ubuntu - it's very easy to set up with handles :)
I also wondered for a long time about the SQL client, temporarily but continuously using phpMyAdmin. and trying different clients along the way. Under Windows I use only HeidiSQL. I decided to try to use it on Linux from under Wine. Works great, search is no longer relevant :-)
I have been using WebYog Community Edition for many years, if not dozens.
