MVC4. (C#) What is the best way to export data from Excel to a database?

It is necessary to implement the following - data is imported from Excel, then a chart is built using these data, using cool javascript libraries. The data and chart are then imported back into Excel.
I can't figure out where to start.

Grab your EPPlus or SpreadsheetLight and go. But why export immutable data back, what is the sacred meaning in this?
