MVC or HMVC, what to choose?
I started to create a cloud that will parse a couple of sites and then display it either on the site or on the program (later I want to port it to a mobile phone). A friend advised kohana 3.2, began to study, although it is incomprehensible for a beginner , but here, the same friend, screaming and pounding his feet, requires switching to yii.
What is the difference between them and which is better?

The goal of programming is to solve problems. If you write something that works, then honor and praise be to you. It doesn't matter if it is written in ZF, YII or hardcoded phtml.
Well, if we move a little away from global goals: any modern framework structures the code well, try different ones, use your favorite.
Theoretically, the cloud is easier to scale with HMVC. This is if quick answers are not needed.
In practice, HMVC, when the called controller is on another machine, is slower due to network overhead.
So if a video is being packed there, a site is being parsed, or another long-term activity, then you can. Otherwise, no.
