MS Word for Mac: how to increase productivity?

Given: iMac 27', 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory. In general, all applications do not slow down. Except one. MS Word is constantly stupid and crashes (version 15.13.3). I work with tabular data of 100 pages.
Question: It seems that somewhere there are restrictions on the computer resources that MS Word can use. How to remove these restrictions, if any? Or how can you generally improve the stability of the program?
