Monit usage?

Dear connoisseurs. Did you use this tool for monitoring, and even so that when a daemon crashes, it checks .pid and raises the daemon by calling the sh-script.

Yes, in standard configs, it checks the pid.
If you wish, you can write your own start|stop scripts

It does exactly what you're asking, reads the pid file and looks for a process with the given PID. if the process is not found, monit considers it "dead" and runs the start script you configure. you can set a limit on the number of restarts and notifications to the administrator.
