MODX: What is the difference between chunks and templates in a database and a source (file)?

As you know, in MODX revo, chunks and templates can be stored in two ways:
1. If you do not select a source, then the entire chunk code is stored in the database.
2. If you select a source, i.e. file with code, then the code is taken from the file.
Is there any difference between these methods?
If a chunk or template is stored in a file, then if necessary, it can be edited through any editor or IDE. In this option, plus for convenience. But taking data from a database seems to be much faster than from a file. Therefore, I would venture to suggest that if chunks and templates are stored in the database, then the site will become faster. Is it so?

In your options, in both cases, the code will be duplicated in the database.

For issuing a page from the cache, there is no difference.
