Mikrotik Cloud Core Router 1036-8G-2S+EM vs Cisco CISCO2911/K9: what to choose?

I decided to move further on pumping skills in the field of routing. The cat cried money and I can only pay for one piece of iron. I'm happy to hear smart advice.

1. For RouterOS there is no difference, by and large. So download the x86 image to the virtual machine and play as much as you like. Or buy RB951 - get almost everything the same in terms of functionality.
2. But the tsiska will be more interesting - here is voip, and ios itself, etc.

Mikrotik is somewhat cheaper, it is slowly popularized like Ubiquiti, CISCO is certainly a good and expensive thing, but not all offices are ready to afford it, although you also need to know, at least try it on the GNS3 emulator.

1) Mikrotik is more versatile. This is the advantage of the "soft" architecture and RouterOS with Linux inside.
2) The entry threshold for Mikrotik is lower than for most analogues. The logic can be debugged on a cheap RB 751/951/2011 or by running the x86 version in VirtualBox.
But don't rely too much on the super-performance of the 36-processor monster.
It is killed by the simplest syn-flood no worse than a single-processor one: forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=79914
