Mikrotik: choosing a "road" router. What can be done and how difficult is it?
Hello.
I was puzzled by the choice of a new router for transporting with me and raising the network in various places (hotels, recreation centers, etc.). The list of requirements is something like this:
Required features:
1. Support for Yota (including a USB-WiFi point and a regular modem)
2. Support for 3G / 4G whistles (for example, Megafon)
3. Connecting to WiFi as a client with simultaneous distribution of the Internet via WiFi (for example , to bypass WiFi restrictions in the hotel “no more than one device”)
4. Stable work for days, on average there will be 10 ten clients, half will sit on YouTube, the other half will sometimes exchange files via WiFi.
5. Powerful signal, I want to break through several thick (50 cm logs) wooden walls.
6. It would be cool to be able to distribute the Internet via USB from iPhone and / or Android
7. The ability to transparently organize VPN for clients via OpenVPN / OpenSSH.
8. The ability to cut off everyone, except for some (for example, by MAC or password) access to the Internet, but leave LAN.
9. Possibility to limit traffic/sites to clients (to all or selectively to all/to individual IPs)
10. It would be nice if modems and their settings were detected automatically.
Up to this point, there was Zyxel Keenetic 4G. It worked, but there was a weak signal and could only distribute the Internet from a modem / from another WiFi. I want to buy a Thing that would satisfy all my Wishlist from above and a little more. I heard a lot of good things about the stability and customizability of Mikrotik, a couple of minutes on the site led me toRB951G-2HnD . Questions:
1. Is the choice adequate? Will it not fold? Isn't this overkill (although adequately priced)?
2. Will the OS features be enough? I heard that they somehow differ in levels. This is where RouterOS Level 4 stands.
3. Is the standard documentation enough and is it adequate or is it worth reading something extra?
Thank you.

Comments on the points:
1. not known
2. wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported_Hardware#3G_cards
3. need to check (I'll try it out in the evening, I'll unsubscribe)
4. yes
5. MK will pierce quite well, but will client devices pierce back ? ;) I.e. There is a sense from a powerful transmitter when, on the receiving side, there is also a powerful transmitter capable of “answering” “loudly” enough so that microns could “hear” it.
6. most likely does not know how.
7. yes.
8. yes.
9. yes.
10. no, you have to set it up, there is nothing complicated on the wiki, in my opinion.
Answers to questions
1. Quite an adequate choice.
2. Enough.
3. A standard wiki is enough.
1 and 2. We focus on the list of supported devices.
3. If the standard SOHO, then it will not work out. If self-assembly with two wireless cards, then it is, firstly, more expensive (roughly around 10 tyr. The price will be spinning) and will come out larger, and secondly, this is definitely overkill.
4. They have very large uptimes. I myself from update to update without hesitation works, it's a month and a half.
5. Powerful enough, there are 1000 mW wireless parts even in the SOHO line.
6. No, this is definitely not the case.
7. Maybe.
8. Of course, they generally have a wonderful firewall.
9. Yes, maybe. There are no problems with traffic restrictions at all. Here with sites, of course, but if you ban by IP, then there is not a very correct ban, you know, how many sites can hang on one address. And if you block by context, the router gets a lot of load, it has to look through all the packets, usually 6-7 rules by context give 100% of the load.
10. Well, it won't set up anything by itself. You'll have to use handles. There is a good Wiki, there are some articles in Russian. Many self-written manuals, many articles on sellers' websites. There are several specialized forums, both almost dead and active.
1. In my opinion, RB951 with gigabit will be quite a good choice.
2. 4 lvl for a home user per eye. If it’s not enough, you can always buy a higher license, 5 lvl will cost a little less than 2 sput.
3. There is no documentation in the deliveries at all, unless the seller reports something. Using the Internet as a reference, you can set up without much difficulty. I don't think you will be disappointed.
