Microsoft office on rdp does not open files in Outlook 2016
Method:
Open Excel.
Click the File tab and select options.
Click on the Control Center and then the "Settings Center..." button.
Select Protected View.
** Uncheck "Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments" **

But how do I do this for all virtual desktops together ?
