Microfreezes in Linux, who is to blame?
About a couple of weeks later, incomprehensible friezes began in my linux (Linux Mint + Cinnamon) - it seems that I didn’t install anything global, I didn’t delve into the system configs - it’s not clear who or what is to blame). I install system updates every 2-3 days.
These friezes appear in the form of short system freezes - if I read the same habr, I may not notice the problem. But it is very noticeable when scrolling the page for a long time or watching a video - as if a few frames were thrown out, but the sound is normal, without freezes. Or you drive with the mouse - it froze and jumped to a new position.
The system did not notice some kind of friezes in the appearance - it may not appear for a couple of days, or it may appear after a few hours of work. Restarting ALWAYS helps with this scourge. Obviously some process is to blame, but I don't know how to catch it.
I closed all programs, killed all bash and node scripts, but could not identify the cause - the processor load is near zero, the system load is less than 1, the temperature for my old laptop is normal (a little above 40), the smart disk is green, but the microfreezes do not disappear.
Yes, I recently played in Windows, installed in parallel - everything is ok there. Those. There is hope that it's still not in the iron.
Where to dig, where to look for the culprit (except for the gasket between the chair and the monitor))?

If there is no load, the sound is not interrupted, but at the same time there is a visual frieze, and this affects the mouse cursor, then the first thing you should pay attention to is the video card drivers.
