Memory setup in OpenVZ, is privvmpages needed?
Good day!
There is a hostnode on OpenVZ Ram 64Gb Swap 32Gb
VSwap is included.
There are about 70-80 containers in the node, different services.
In view of the fact that when VSwap appears, developers recommend using only RAM and Swap parameters when creating a container, the following question is brewing:
privvmpages for containers will be unlimited. Can some container, if the application works incorrectly (inside it) and privvmpages=unlim, harm the hostnode or neighbors?
Where did such a question come from? I explain that on many containers with VSwap=1 there are restrictions on privvmpages, and for example, in a container with apache, at some load, apache tries to create more processes, but it runs into can't allocate memory, and can't get into the container, and the service won't works.
How much documentation has not been read on OpenVZ, and the memory issue is still in the fog, I will be grateful for clarifications

How are you trying to get inside the container?
With so many containers, are you running out of memory on the host?
