Matlab: How to work with matrices?

what would this formula look like in matlab?
I need to write it but have no idea how to write it ]2.3
seems like
H1 = [(x(1+x*2)+(1+2x)*2]2.3
but wrong

idea?

Stupidly replace them with round ones, it's the same thing.
Used to make the formula look less scary (note the exponent).
