Materializecss or Material Design Light from Google: what to choose for a new site?
We are working on creating a new project, deciding what to choose as a basis.
Materializecss :
Pros:
- There are all the elements (functionally) that will be in demand when developing a site.
Cons:
- The project will most likely be closed due to the appearance of mdl. Lack of perspective.
- CSS structure is far from standard BEM
MDL Google
Pros:
- Perspective, "the time will come when only mdl will be everywhere"), this is a framework from the creator of material design, most likely it can become the best
- Active community
- Correct CSS
Cons:
- there is no big the number of elements for the functionality of the site, you have to refine it with the help of third-party libraries
- the appearance of the desired functionality is not yet visible even in the long term (a couple of three months)
since the development of the site will take a fairly short time (a month or two), we tend to materializecss, this will allow the project to be launched faster and then, if it shoots, it will be possible to rewrite as the missing functionality from Google appears. But "the heart bleeds" from the realization that mdl is still internally better.
What would you choose? It is motivation that is interesting, i.e. the answer to the question "why" is exactly that.

I would choose Materializecss because the framework first of all should reduce development time. And since all the necessary elements are there, then that's exactly what he does. As for MDL, you will have to add everything with crutches.
Therefore, I think that it is better to quickly file a project with Materializecss now, and in the future, when "the time comes for MDL", if necessary and means, switch to it.
