Mastering C++. I read Schildt's Basic Course in C++. What to read next: "How to Program in C++" (Deitel) or "Lectures and Exercises" (S. Prat)?

Hello!
Almost read Schildt's "Basic C++ Course".
Some practical consolidation of OOP and C ++ issues is very necessary. I have been looking for a good book for a long time.
I can't decide on a book: Take the Deitels "How to Program in C++" or S. Prat's "Lectures and Exercises".
What book would be better to go through? Both books have the exercises I so desired. They seem to cover the same material.
[spoiler = about myself]
Ultimately, I want to retrain as a Java developer. I'm going to JavaEE. It is also interesting to use Java in Embedded. But I want to approach it after I more or less understand C ++. I give myself 1 year to study.
I have been working in the field of automation for several years. Basically a service. Did several projects on the PLC.
There are several solved tasks on VBAExcel for labor automation :) I understand AVR assembler.

Help, if not difficult.
Advise, Prata or Deitel?

Just in case, go through both books, the first will give experience, the second will consolidate knowledge.

If you understand the basics of C ++, then it's definitely time to take on Stroustrup. Additionally, read the literature on design patterns.

You can throw a stone at me, but for me the approach of reading books as the only source of learning has never worked.
Think about what you would like to write and write. That's how you learn. Trust me, books won't teach you how to program properly anyway. Unfortunately, everyone has to step on the nth number of rakes at the beginning.
Although you may not have the same mindset as I do.
A little bit about yourself. At the university, I once taught only C++. At work, my main language is pluses + for about a year I wrote for android in a small desk + now I program for it as a hobby. And behind the back of the plus books I have only, like you, Schildt. :)
