Margin top on h1?

Just curious, why doesn't h1 have a margin-top very often?
Is this some kind of typographic design rule? Does it have any rational purpose?
I understand that you can do as you like and as the design requires, just curious.
upd. It's only about h1. Why is h1 very often not margin-top?

because according to the rule of good layout - the vertical margin should be in one direction. either only up on all elements, or only down. as a rule, it is most often found exactly down. that's why they don't do margin-top for h1 either.

H1 for good should be one on the page. Most often, it is centered vertically against the background of the hero block. The same header that you are all talking about, this should be h1.
