Making audiobooks?

Hello!
I would like to share some of my creations. I had 2 questions:
1. What is the best free software to use for this? Maybe there is something specific?
Platforms: Windows and, if so, iOS.
2. Where can I get free background music? Interested, of course, in lounge, ambient, chillout, relax, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Of the free ones, the flagship Audacity has already been noted above. From the paid ones - Steinberg Cubase, SONY Sound Forge, etc.
Audacity is rather clumsy, as a result of which even the banal use of several real-time VST effects (through a special VST bridge) - like a compressor, reverb, equalizer and sidechain - turns into non-acidic hemorrhoids. If you are interested in just having fun without serious manners and spending money (and without a high-quality microphone and a special room with the necessary acoustic characteristics (booths), sound recording is out of the question, especially for an audiobook), then Audacity is what you need.

Do a Google search for the phrases
creative commons music
and
podsafe music
You'll have to go through a lot of tracks before you find something worthwhile. But good tracks come across.
