Mail for Domain: gmail vs. Yandex

I bought myself a family domain, I wanted to make my mail on it. And before setting up, the question arose: whose service to use, google or Yandex?

I came across these services 3 times:
1. A friend has Yandex mail connected.
2. A friend has a mail connection on google.
3. A school friend connected mail on Google, and then switched to Yandex.

The only significant difference for me is the number of users - on Yandex it is more (1000 versus 10 for Google)

On the Internet I find mostly instructions for connecting and configuring. The only comparison here is urths.com/blog/choice-google-apps-gmail-or-yandex-mail-for-domain-yand/ but given the year of publication, it could already be outdated ...

Maybe someone from the locals has come across both services and can help you choose? Only mail will be used, and maybe chat occasionally. I also noticed that Google sometimes does not reach attachments. I read about Yandex that attachments go to Yandex.disk, but there was no way to check.

And a question from the science fiction genre: is it possible to somehow connect both services to the same domain?

I have a valid domain mail for Google and Yandex. In short:
Paid - free
Filters are bad - good
Download speed is low - high
Convenience of a Google account as a single account - there is no such option
Integration with Google drive and Google documents is - a miserable similarity in the form of Yandex disk
Synchronization of contacts with the phone is excellent - through the ass
Interface break your leg - excellent
Built-in calendar is excellent - shit
The ability to embed a mail application (like plugins for project management systems) directly into the gmail web face - there are no such options (as far as I know).
The ability to send delayed emails using third-party paid apps is a free built-in feature.
Possibility to create any number of aliases for mail - you can use the <phone number> yandex .ru format as an alias.
Nice interface for writing several letters without closing the main web interface - there is no such interface.
There is no notification of the recipient by SMS - there is such a notification.
The functionality of Gmail is huge, but in many places the implementation is not very user friendly.

The main difference is that Google has mail for a domain only on a fee basis. Not the main thing - (for our realities) you need to carefully read the license agreements.

I use Yandex mail, I can’t say any of its advantages, it’s just more convenient for me. At the expense of attachments, Yandex helped out more than once when I forgot to attach a file to a letter - proof .

Yandex has a simpler setup interface. Much easier. In Google, I had to change dns ... Since then I have been using Yandex)

Google is now paid. I didn’t like Yandex for the domain, they somehow made up their minds there with accounts. Therefore, I simply set up forwarding of all mail from the domain to a regular gmail box at the registrar - I was satisfied.

Yandex.
because I download mail, there can’t be much difference (the webmord is not important, but it works quite well both).
Some notes-observations:
1. Yandex is free, gmail is not.
2. SDA and DNS hosting - convenient, free, entries in the DNS appear very quickly after adding, immediately.
3. An additional bonus is the ability to immediately get jabber accounts for all mailboxes on your domain. Just by checking the box.
4. Spam is cut just fine. (but also on gmail, in general, too)
5. I noticed that CSN sometimes goes down. Not for long, but already a couple of times I noticed. (at the moment when my domain does not resolve, I check if there is Internet, there is no resolving from the Yandex server). Rarely, not for long, but still.

Initially there was Google, but then switched to Yandex. Firstly, users were closer to the initially domestic service + there was experience of using it. And secondly: after Google started to extinguish its old projects left and right, there was a sediment left, and I completely left Google.

I use the Google mail service, so far there have been no problems or complaints, there were no difficulties in setting up either. The choice fell on him because of the good work of spam filters.

I use Yandex. Google, unfortunately, opens 2 times slower (I'm talking about uploading at the very beginning). In addition, Google has too good spam filters, sometimes important letters not only get into spam, but do not reach at all due to, for example, a link to a corporate website in the sender's signature.

I switched (and recommend) biz.mail.ru - it works quickly and stably.
I used Yandex for two years - all these two years there were regular downs of IMAP servers. Spit out.
Google is good, but scary. Will they suddenly close? Well, they want money.

I didn’t know about paying, I connected there more than 2 years ago ... True, there are only 15 GB of space and there are not many chips that are in the paid version of the new one.

I took a nap with this thought and decided to stop at Yandex. Somehow Yandex works faster. I will now slowly move to a new mail. Thank you all for your participation.

If the presence of IMAP is not important for you, then you can try mail from Microsoft .

Climbed in themes and just fell in love with the three-column view of the display of letters (when the letter is displayed to the right of the list of letters)

We use this and that and slowly crawl the entire Yandex to Google. Google has only problems with interface changes and non-reaching mail to addresses with dots (it’s even a little more difficult to configure software for domain services, because there is not enough banal indication of a login and password, you have to add everything with pens)

I used Google for a very long time and was satisfied.
But lately I have become very fond of biz.mail.ru, I plan to completely switch to it. Somehow everything is done correctly and user-friendly. For example, spf and dkim are connected there in a few clicks and everything is intelligibly painted. While Google has a lot of actions to do in order to connect the same dkim.

I would add one more point, in my opinion this has been relevant lately =)
Yandex is located in Russia and, if necessary, our special services can easily get access to your mailbox. It’s unlikely that this will work on a zhemail ... I recently visited the bailiffs so they said that they don’t accept letters from gmail))

Recently, Yandex has a buggy web mail interface for the domain (all links in the letter lead to a 404 Yandex error).
I've been chatting with tech support for two weeks with no success.

I can say one thing, there are no complaints about Google, mail for the domain works great, I don’t know how Yandex does. Google's interface suits all my needs. The pay is not so big, but everything is stable.

Google has already canceled free GApps, they are only paid now for new users.
Old google apps are still free

I did something stupid and transferred corporate mail to Yandex. Here Yandex for a domain, how to painlessly transfer users from pop3 to imap? can be read. I am still sorting out problems, although I have only 50 mailboxes. Therefore, before switching to Yandex, think 10 times.

Yandex - free
Mail.ru - unlimited

If you value corporate correspondence, then it is better to look towards Google. With a strong desire, your competitors will make a Yandex or mail.ru mirror through special services, the price of the issue is not so high.

Google has a lot of services, but it is paid, Yandex has free, but more modest functionality. The choice must be made based on the need for Google services. Detailed setup instructions with pictures here https://pureseo.ru/kak-sozdat-pochtu-na-domain-che...

I don't remember the days when Google was free.
Yandex.PDD (Connect) - free, quickly configured, with a user-friendly interface. Workhorse for over a year.
Mail.ru mail service does not work in Ukraine.
I still use a foreign service called Zoho Mail. So far I'm just checking, but I managed to please.
