Magento vs. X-Cart

There is a problem with the choice - Magento or X-Cart . In the wiki (which, as you know, you can only trust with caution), a comparison page for functionality like X-Cart looks a little better. Both free and paid versions of the platforms are considered.

What you want from the platform:
- great functionality "out of the box" For example - comparison, quick view of the product, displaying categories in the form of a list or matrix, several pictures for one product, connecting independent text blocks for each product, in general, at least some basic functionality for creating landing pages and other textual information.
- Composite products (SKUs that include several basic SKUs - for example, the "holiday set" product, which includes a kilogram of Olivier, a bottle of vodka and alkoseltzer).
— wide opportunities for marketing: coupons, discounts, promotions, links to add specially designed products to the cart — the more opportunities, the better
— gift certificates and the ability to work with them in bulk (search by certificate number, operations with part of the certificates — for example, on all certificates starting with BURATINO add 5 gold coins each)
- a system of bonuses and cumulative discounts, i.e. bought goods for 100 gold - get a ticket to the theater as a gift, added goods to the basket for more than 10 gold - get a 10% discount or a free wallet.
— Paypal, Authorize.net
- the ability to quickly refine with a file to add what is not there
- the ability to work with web services of third-party ERP systems (both ways)
- CONVENIENCE OF WORKING WITH THE ADMIN, especially for non-technical staff
- general non-glitching
- the ability to withstand good loads without constantly involving a bearded a dirty sweater and a tambourine
- not a very outdated architecture and development prospects in the near future (as far as possible)

I would be especially grateful for the feedback from people who built their sites based on these systems, tips on “where it’s more buggy” and stories of how the fuck everything broke down, but you everything was done heroically.

Definitely Magento: the market leader, a huge number of modules. Excellent architecture, modern and developing project. I speak from experience, I have been working with Magento for more than 3 years.

I've been working with X-Cart for more than 7 years (yes, I've found bearded versions 3.x). Magento is not recommended.
On the Wikipedia page, the info is not that relevant ... I would recommend looking at X-Cart features here - help.x-cart.com/ - there are manuals, fakes, and more.
Well, in principle, everything that you request is there.
And, well, if you buy some services (technical support, integration / design development, customization) from developers, they are Russian-speaking and cool :) Don’t take it for advertising.

I personally would order only for my CMS requirements (or rather, in my case, I would spend a couple of weeks and write it myself).
But if you choose between these two ... let's go through the points:
1) x-cart wins here (although again, depending on which edition, but even in the cheapest one, it wins, although not much)
2) It’s more difficult here, as far as I remember from this box is not. Yes, and I didn’t seem to see it for x-cart either, but for Magenta there is for sure. But maybe my information is out of date. I researched x-cart about half a year ago.
3) Out of the box in expensive x-cart editions or Magenta modules. But if you take modules, then there are more opportunities.
4) I can't say anything here.
5) seems to be in both. I can’t name a clear leader
6) Modules
7) X-CART is more primitive, but on the other hand, the situation with magento developers is much more pleasant. And the structure itself is unusual only at first.
8) ERP - there are integrations. For x-cart, I know that some desks provide the possibility of integration in both directions for many ERP systems. But I can't say for sure because I've never experienced it. Magenta's mod is easier with this. There are both free and paid solutions.
9) judging objectively, both looks flawed. Out of the box at least. I can’t say anything about the customization in this matter, because I didn’t do it. Although, on the other hand, there is nothing particularly better ... and this is sad
10) here both systems seem to fit
11) nifiga admins are not in dirty sweaters ... Well, carry it. I honestly don’t know about x-cart in this regard, but you can finish some mechanisms for a faster search. Just like for Magenta, use Sphinx/Mongo to search. With a small sharpening with a file, based on the capabilities of your server, both of them will withstand the load approximately the same.
12) There is definitely a Magenta leader. That is why he began to gain momentum so quickly at the very beginning.
So it goes.

A question for those who have been working with XCart and Magento for a long time: what kind of beast is CSCart? Is it comparable in terms of capabilities?

isden - arguing here is useless and pointless. Dudes ask about differences, and you lie to them.
