Made a sim. link to target.sh file, how to execute it?

Good afternoon, I made a symbolic link like this: [[email protected] ~]$ sudo ln -s ./path/to/the/target.sh run
I call from the directory in which at the moment
[[email protected] ~]$ run
bash: run: command not found...
Why?

@P_Alexander

You need an alias (alias), not a link, if I understand the intent correctly.
