Macros Word how to fix error?

Hello! I am writing a macro in word.

Dim xl As Excel.Application, wb As Excel.Workbook, ws As Excel.Worksheet
    Dim xlOpen As Boolean, wshell

The compiler swears at the Excel.Application component, while this component is perceived normally in Excel. Apparently in word it needs to be connected? How can I do that? Or is this problem solved in another way?
