Lost access to network printer. Where to dig?

The remote network printer in Word is with the status “Status unavailable”, I can’t reconnect to it, the message pops up Printer “such and such” does not exist on the computer. Check the printer name and make sure the printer is connected to the network.
The machine I'm trying to access is running Windows 8.1. Connection is made by means of a domain network. From other machines, the printer was still available as it was ...

I deleted the network printer through the registry, after which I finally managed to reconnect to it and life got better :)
