We need a result in the spirit of the sites of Ilya Birman , Valera Popov and Fritonika .
How much more difficult is finishing a ready-made engine like WP, will it be the creation of a self-written solution?

The best solution is WordPress. Everything you need is there. For convenience, you can add a new type of post "work" and a couple of taxonomies. So the main finishing touch to WP is the creation of templates.

So try Egeya from the same Birman, like a free engine. I haven't used it myself, so I can't say more. Or the same wordpress.
