Looking for an alternative to Java?

The situation is as follows: in college we learn Java as the main language, if I continue my studies, then most likely I will have to do labs on it at the university. After the usual C, the language seemed very complicated and confusing to me.
Before me was a choice:
1. Go through the basics of Java again, read books, watch video tutorials.
2. Start learning another language.
PS Simply very often I read angry responses towards Java. This all put me in a bit of a stupor. Thank you.

Don't look for an alternative to Java. The language is simpler than C, much more manageable in terms of wacky newbie mistakes (your case). In addition, if you suddenly decide to work as a programmer, the probability of finding a job in C and C ++ is much less than in Java.

The more popular the language, the more angry reviews.

First decide on your task, then look for a suitable language for solving it.

Java is in high demand in the IT market, especially banks and large telecoms.

Python is ideal for a university (it's really nice to write in it) or C ++. IMHO.
