1. Did anyone have experience in raising an IRC server on a local network?
2. What is the best software? What can you advise!?
3. Interested in another question about the load on the machine and the channel

like www.unrealircd.com/ we had a modified one. All this was spinning on a 2-processor machine with PIII or PII. It also had a Quake 3 server

I once took RFC and wrote my own in perl… in fact, it’s not long and easy… I kept loads up to 3000 online… I stupidly didn’t try again
