Learning WebSocket, need a hint?

There is some free time for self-study, I decided to study the subject in order to keep up with the trends.

For starters, I want to make a banal thing - there are channels, users write messages to channels, subscribers receive updates via WS to the browser.

I decided to do it with the help of RabbitMQ (very often met a recommendation for its use for such purposes) + SocketJS, dug up on the rabbit site that I need to raise it with the rabbitmq-stomp plugin, which I actually did. But there was a doubt - am I pricking nuts with a microscope? Maybe there are better solutions?

PS So far, everything is in relation to PHP, but I'm trying to be friends with Python
