Learn Java syntax by video or practice?

Studied c++, java has c-like syntax. Is it better to learn java syntax on some kind of your project, or from a video?

There are video tutorials here to learn from. Write everything down in your notebook! Solve at least 10 problems on each topic with increasing difficulty, if you don’t know something, ask Google. 1 hour of theory should roughly correspond to 8 hours of practice!
