Lack of space on monitors. How do you decide?
Good afternoon.
I have 2 monitors 27 FullHD in landscape and portrait orientation.
There is not enough space on them for comfortable use.
For example, I see the ideal site layout as follows:
1. Open layout
2. Open editor
3. Open browser
4. Open file manager
This task can be solved by a 4k monitor, but the problem of the small size of the monitor itself arises.
I'm looking at Philips BDM4350UC, but 43 inches is still too small for me.
I also look towards the Hyundai H-LED50U601BS2S TV, but the TV is a TV, not a monitor.
How do you deal with such inconveniences?

27" is too much or you are a meter away, but it makes sense
22-24 is ok
Tile window manager - solves all your problems
You need a maximum of 2-3 open windows: 1 coding, 1 view, 1 directory
Any monitor with jumping numbers will waste your attention
A couple of years ago I bought three 27" 4K monitors, the total resolution is 11520 x 2160, the total diagonal is 72", the aspect ratio is 48/9. In combination with a tile window manager (i3), there is almost always enough space: on the left, the documentation or sources of one of the previous projects are usually open, in the center is the editor (a little more than half the screen vertically), a terminal, and a file manager, on the right is the target site in debug mode
A few observations , which may be useful for those who are thinking about a similar solution:
1. In this configuration, monitors have to be arranged in a semicircle - so that the distance from the head to the center of each of the screens is the same, otherwise it is inconvenient to use them. This is not at all like pictures of beautiful jobs from the Internet, but you can use a table of a smaller width. For example, three 27 "monitors, 62 cm each, fit perfectly on a 150 cm table
2. The consequence of the previous paragraph is that the monitors lose their tilt adjustment, so it is important that there is a height adjustment
3. It has become much more convenient to work, but this is almost no effect on labor productivity affected: as it turned out, switching virtual screens is far from the main reason for the breakdown of the context
4. Strange as it may seem, Intel's integrator does an excellent job with three 4K monitors, although you have to use three different connections - DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, and USB-C
5. A multi-monitor configuration does not allow you to use high-quality speakers - there is simply nowhere to put them. I plan to make a table with horizontally located woofers, place the tweeters in separate cases that can be directed at the listener by placing them under the monitors, and use an active filter (MiniDSP) to adjust the phase and frequency response separately for each of the speakers
. In general, one 4K monitor from all points of view easier, but three is more fun)
A dual-monitor configuration is not an option. either the frame will be located in the middle, or on one side of the world it will be significantly larger than on the other (if one of the monitors is placed in the center, and the second on the side, as an auxiliary). I tried to temporarily remove one of the monitors - I didn’t like it.
At the same time, I would gladly change my set to one monitor with a ratio of 32/9, a diagonal of 58", a resolution of 7680 x 2160 (similar to two 32" 4K), and a connection via one USB- C (TB3 allows you to transmit two 4K streams at 60 Hz), but, unfortunately, these are not yet released. Given the recent appearance of several models 49 "5120 x 1440, I hope that sooner or later it will come to 58" Dual 4k
upd. 40 cm vertically (32 "16/9) is the limit for comfortable work, otherwise the neck gets tired. For 43" and even more so 50" TV it will be extremely inconvenient to work. In addition, one must understand that in many cases resolution is much more important size: if something cannot be seen, then you can move closer, but if there is not enough resolution, then you have to use virtual screens
Two 20" monitors and one 13" laptop, and already make sites for users, not for your 40" monitors.
Duc is you, my friend, rage with fat. I have 15.6" monitors, everything is enough, I type, I develop with comfort. Appreciate what you have.
By the subject: on monitors higher than 15.6" there can be no lack of space in principle. So I can't do it.
