1. Design patterns are useful to everyone - from junior to senior. I don’t know, maybe somewhere now the juns are showing the finger where and how to write part of the code, but I was always just given the task of “write a crud for X with validation / Y conditions”, and I needed at least a basic understanding MVC pattern (I worked on the web)
2. If you are at least planning a career, then understanding the best practices for creating software / applications is vital knowledge.
3. Designing is not done by juniors. But it is the juniors who have to deal with what the seniors have designed.
