Kinect for Windows - software, games?
Kinect for Windows has been out for a long time, but can anyone tell me if there is software that uses it, or games that can be played on a PC using Kinect?
I want to buy a kinect for windows for developing software, but at the same time so that during those periods when development is not going on, the device does not gather dust on the shelf, but is used for its intended purpose - for outdoor activities at home.
Or maybe kinect for windows can be hooked to xbox? Then there would be no problem

The regular Kinnect XBOX works just fine with Windows, out of the box, without the hassle.

Here are the answers to your questions. At a minimum, Kinect for windows sensors can recognize at a distance of up to 40 cm, for xbox kinect'a, the distance seems to be 2 times higher. Well, they do not recommend connecting it to the xbox 360. But apparently it's possible.
I didn't hear about the games. But maybe the brand new Dead Space 3 can use Windows Kinect.
