Kill a process permanently - how?

I can't find it on Google, how can I permanently kill a process in Mac OS X 10.10 (so that it never runs again)?

@s3lfstyle

depends on how it starts.
this is usually launchd and is controlled by launchctl.
more details can be answered when providing data on the process.

If you really hate the process and don't want to bother figuring out how to run it, find the executable and rename it. Roughly, but it will only be reflected in the form of a log entry, unless this is a process without which the key functions of the OS will stop working.
