Keyboard not working on HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC, what should I do?

At one point, the keyboard on the laptop stopped working. I noticed that when the laptop is turned off or in sleep mode, the keyboard works. also the caps lock button and f12 are lit... is it some kind of glitch in the program?

Maybe your multicontroller is stuck. Try turning off the computer completely (start-shutdown), then press the power button once, release and immediately start holding it again for 5 seconds. The laptop should shut down and remove power from all components. Turn on the computer again and check if the keyboard works
