Keyboard and touchpad key lock on linux - child protection?
Hello,
I have a problem that I could not solve myself. I run cartoons on a laptop for a child. I have already weaned him from picking off the Caps Lock / Tab / etc keys with his little fingers, but while browsing, he constantly presses the keys on the keyboard in a chaotic manner or carries them around the touchpad, which either stops browsing or turns off the laptop altogether.
In this regard, the question is - is it possible to block the response to keystrokes and the touchpad, as well as unlock the keyboard using some secret combination?
Note: Sony Vaio
OS: Ubuntu 12.04
Workaround: output video to TV on the network via dlna, but it is not always possible to use TV for this task.
Thank you.

manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/hardy/man1/xtrlock.1x.html is what you need. Unlock by user password. If extra characters were printed, Esc and the password again help.
The touchpad can be turned off, for example, like this: We are
looking for the touchpad identifier:
xinput list
xinput set-prop 13 "Device Enabled" 0
xinput set-prop 13 "Device Enabled" 1
I myself have the 2nd, much more effective, but also more difficult, to teach a child not to do this. And it’s easy to teach - the cartoon stopped - go play with toys. And without compromise. 2 times should be enough.
