Kernel panic when installing CentOS 5.5 on ESXi 4.1 U1 + HP dl385 g7 amd?

Good afternoon.
I'm trying to install CentOS 5.5 on ( HP dl385 g7 6136 + ESXi 4.1 U1 ).
The installation constantly crashes on kernel panic, it seems, as after initializing the virtual cores of the processor.

In the bagrakyu set, either nothing is said, or a method is indicated according to which you first need to install RHEL with an older kernel, and only then upgrade to a new one via yum.

However, this method is not very attractive to me, due to possible subsequent difficulties.

Are there any ideas and considerations?

It is rather strange at the same time that both HP and VMware declare the presence of compatibility of each other's products and CentOS.

@antivir

A similar situation is possible if the memory modules are not properly distributed in the memory banks. Check.
