Joomla sending emails via imap protocol

Hi everybody.
I have such a task, it costs joomla, you need to configure it so that when a message is sent through the contact form, then in my mailbox it will be displayed as outgoing. I read on Google, they say that you need to configure the imap protocol, well, I don’t understand how I did it in joomla. Has anyone had such problems?

Imap - incoming mail protocol, sending in any case goes through SMTP, it doesn't matter if you use imap or pop3.

Guys, well, in theory, if I send letters via smtp, then they should be displayed in the same account as outgoing ??
