Java.What books to read?

What can I read about Java? It's just that most of the books are outdated, and I don't know if this is critical or not. I just don't want to read old material and then relearn.

If for a beginner, then Thinking in java (Bruce Eckel) will be too early. You should start with Schildt and practice, and then read Eckel. By the way, the Russian version lacks a couple of necessary sections.
In fact, Schildt is the alphabet, and Ekel is how to write correctly)

Thinking in Java 4th edition: wikijava.it-cache.net . In Russian.
