It seems to me, or the problem is in the video driver?
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
i5 3570k
asus p8z77-v lx
geforce gtx 660/Intel HD Graphics 4000
The essence of the problem is that the screen goes blank for 2 seconds at work, and the system seems to freeze (especially if you start any browser + notepad, skype and browser , game and any program...), and then everything becomes ok again.
If you go through safe mode - everything works with a bang, I don't notice any problems. Also, if you remove the drivers for 660, no problems are noticed, nothing freezes. But as soon as I install the driver on 660, the "monitor fades for 2-5 seconds" starts. I download drivers for my model from the office. site.
Guys, how to be, what to do? It feels like the drivers are crooked. Of course, I'll try to install older drivers (from the disk, I just don't have a disk drive), and so, I always downloaded everything more recent from the office. site.

You are seeing a race condition in the nvidia drivers. Try to find drivers ~2011.
