Is Yii first version required now?

I need to get a job as junior php programmer as soon as possible. Will it be enough to know the first version of Yii at the level of developing simple online stores and the like, I would start with it, because I think that it can be mastered faster than Yii 2. In general, what would you advise?

Yii 1 is now only needed to support old projects. No one in their right mind will write new projects on it. So I advise you to learn at least the basic basics of Yii 2.

IMHO, to work as a junior, you don’t need to know frameworks right away, although this would be a plus. The main thing is to understand in general how to write normal code, to be able to work with git, it would be nice to master the basics of linux.
From the main thing, so that I would ask for skills specifically in php - an understanding of OOP, what and why appeared in the 5th version, working with the database - mysql (plus postgres). It's not bad to be able to "read" someone else's code, that is, to download what's going on here, looking at the source code. Must have some basic knowledge of html, css, js.

Answer: No, old projects may fall for you to support. The new is written on the new, it's obvious =)
How quickly you get settled depends on you. But for applying for a job as a junior. It will not be enough to know only the framework. The stack of technologies is important here, I don’t know how it is in your city, but personally in mine. They require not only Yii 1-2.x but also Symphony and Laravel at least 2 frames along the way. And Angular with a node will be a plus. Ability to cover with tests and work in a team of JIRA, Redmine, git, svn and Linux of course.
Yii has vulnerabilities that have been closed and optimized in Yii2. Added ease of development. Yes, and the IT industry is such a thing that does not stand still. Be prepared for the fact that you need to learn a lot and quickly.

I do not agree with you that the first will be easier to master the second. But what is even more interesting, I have not seen simple online stores developed on AI. Now there is a crisis, and the use of tsms sharpened for Internet stores is a priority than the development of these on frameworks.
