Is this practice acceptable?

For practice, I am developing a small SPA, everything seems to work fine. There is a main template with a container, and data is loaded into it via xhr request. I also figured out the navigation history, but when I refresh the page, another template is loaded with the full html code of the page, and with the same data. This is what confuses me, whether I'm doing the right thing or there are some more suitable solutions.
If not difficult, then give links to the documentation to read.
