Is this knowledge of react/redux necessary?

I am currently studying the React library using a video course from IT-KAMASUTRA, where the state was immediately transferred to a separate file, to understand the work of the redux, further along the course, after connecting the redax, the concepts of presentational components are considered, in 19 Den Abramov rolled out an update on his article, it's better to use hooks.
The question is, is it worth learning this approach, or is it better to start learning react + redux right away with hooks, or should you not bother like a jun and just learn react with hooks and a local state?
