Is there evidence that pixelPerfect layouts increase sales or usability?

The boss is very angry with me for the fact that I take a long time to typeset. I try to explain to him that the only correct layout is either pixelated layout (he calls me a bore).
He asked for evidence that this layout increases sales and usability, and not just the designer's HR.
It also takes time that can be spent on something really useful
. How to convince him?

He's right - you're a bore and a waste of time.
Pixel Perfect Design Does Not Necessarily Equal Go...

Firstly, if the pixel-by-pixel layout takes a lot of time, then the design is nublo, and it cannot normally draw where one block is 276 and the other is the same 277, etc.
Secondly, the customer often wants to see what the design drew, and not what happened with the layout designer .
Thirdly, only with pixel-by-pixel layout you can proudly show how you layout. And by the way, as the hand fills up and the diz will draw directly, then the pixel-by-pixel layout is much faster than usual with the help of an extension for Google

Sometimes it is simply impossible to achieve the same look in different browsers, and it is not necessary. In the end, you also need to remember about graceful degradation.
IMHO achieving pixel matching in different browsers is a waste of time. It is important that the layout does not run at different resolutions and different content (small/large), and the functionality works like clockwork.
An ordinary person never opens a page in another browser to compare the layout. He sneezes deeply as the site is displayed in another browser.

if there is a question in a couple of pixels, then it's not worth it.
if they type up through the ass, so much so that on the design there are 20px indents between the blocks, and on the layout 5 or 50, then this is another story. Or if on the design the text inside the blocks has paddings of 10px to the edge of the block, and on the layout there are fewer or no paddings at all and when filled with text, the letters reach the edge of the block, then this is also bad manners.
If there is a question of a couple of pixels in the fit. There, the buttons are not 27 but 25, the blocks are not 336 but 335, 330. then no problem.

There are no studies on this topic. Research should be carried out at the company level, setting up metrics and counting real user clicks, then splitting and measuring how the position of elements, their visibility, sizes and textual formulations affect indicators that are important to you. The layout itself only concerns the designer and the layout, the first thing to do is to solve business problems, everything else for later.
Modular grids, preprocessors and layout by independent blocks provide real help in layout for business. This really helps to reduce development time (here, of course, experience is needed) and further support.

Yes, in fact, if the customer does not require pixel-by-pixel layout, it does not increase sales, a direct connection between usability and pixel-by-pixel layout can only be found in some specific designs, for the most part it is not connected, well, pixel right pixel left, I still hit you button then.

What do you call pixel layout?
If you're checking everything pixel by pixel, trying to use "pretty" rounded values, then your boss is right.
If you strive to maintain proportions and composition, then you are right. Weinshank had research to back this up.

the question is stupid.
you can make it better than the layout is made, then users will be happy.
you can make it ideologically more correct than the layout, but lose some effect and users will not be happy.
the consequence of joy is your dearly loved sales.
typeset with high quality, but without fanaticism.

Do an A/B test and compare. Most likely your boss is right.

it’s better to do it their way, at first it will be difficult (and then faster and easier). Thank you for your patience when you fill your hand.
