Is there any way to display the value of the date attribute in css?

Hello! I want to try to display the date attribute value in css :before
The problem is that I need to insert this value into the width, not into the content.
Do you think this is possible? I am using the stylus preprocessor. But I'm still not strong in it, maybe it's possible to display the value of the date attribute in a variable, and then substitute it in width?
Any ideas?)
