Is there any software solution to automate screencast text typing?

Here's what I mean: you need to take an arbitrary piece of text, feed it to some program, which will output a video clip at the output with an adjustable speed, where character-by-character text output will be displayed in the editor window, according to the specified markup parameters.
Is there such or a close solution?
