Is there any practical benefit to using the pug template engine? Apart from include of course

Conciseness, reuse, inheritance, block structure, functions, variables, interpolation, ...
All this allows not only fast layout, but, most importantly, easy maintenance.

The biggest benefit is the syntax. You can also have a template hierarchy with inheritance. And you are only talking about inclusion.
