Is there any difference in using HDD through esata?

Hey!
I have a hard drive, it has Windows 8 for toys on it, but I don’t want to disassemble the laptop all the time to play.
Is it possible to solve the problem with this cable?

If so, what should be set in the bios?
Are there any downsides to using this method? Maybe the read / write speed is slowing down ...

The speed is not reduced. In the BIOS, the external drive must be set to a higher priority.

There is no difference in terms of parameters, only in terms of convenience (you can’t work on your knee :) )
A hard drive connected via e-SATA for a PC looks like it is connected directly to SATA.
I recommend reading here , it shows the differences between e-SATA and SATA.
Therefore, you can safely connect the disk to the laptop via e-SATA, select boot from this disk in the BIOS and work as with a regular (read installed inside the laptop) disk.
